A NEW KIND OF CIVIC ORGANIZATION:

Most civic organizations concerned with current affairs are “top-down” organizations, with a paid staff and with members expected to do not much more than send a check once a year, and occasionally perhaps call or write their elected representatives. Many of these organizations perform a valuable service in terms of research, lobbying, and advocacy for worthy projects, and deserve our support.

But for citizens who want to see real change in making government more responsible and more accountable, especially at the local, county and state level, and who want to take an active role in attempting to bring this about, there is a need for a more hands-on grass-roots organization, structured in a “bottom-up” format. This is where Citizens for Responsible Government comes in.
